Our Mission and Purpose
Virginia BCIA is an organization designed to carry out the following purposes:
-
- To foster the improvement of beef cattle in Virginia through breeding methods, improved management practices, and improved fees and feeding methods. Major emphasis shall be placed on traits of economic importance, such as weaning weight, ability to gain rapidly after weaning, yearling weight, efficient feed conversion, desirable type conformation, regular reproduction, longevity, and carcass merit.
- To carry on educational and promotional work in connection with the production of improved beef cattle.
Today, these purposes are carried out through the conduct of the state bull test program and sales, along with association engagement in educational programming and industry leadership.
